Treasure for Earthen Vessels

One of the great joys of my life is to have sat in a classroom with some of the past century's grandest theologians - and to read the works of others.

I was always alert to those moments when one of them delivered an enigmatic claim or shared a line that was pregnant with thoughts yet to be explored.

As the years have passed I've concluded that they knew they were delivering keys that opened doors to rooms full of thought. I've used those keys and walked where (I think) they had already been.

I say this because as I age and continue to think, to learn, to traverse among unsearchable riches I feel like leaving others with enigmatic claims and pregnant lines else they will not value the treasures God places in our earthen vessels.

Not everyone has an ear to hear, a heart to receive, a mind prepared with wonder, a life of expansive experiences.
